나는 소리를 시각적으로 기록하는 과정을 통해 ‘청각’이라는 감각을 재구성하고자 했다. 귀로만 인식되는 소리는 순간적이지만, 그 흔적을 선으로 옮기는 순간 물질성과 시간을 갖는다. ‘청각의 파편’은 그렇게 시각으로 변환된 감정의 흔적이며, 들리지 않는 감정의 잔향이다. 반복되는 선과 진동하는 형태들은 특정한 리듬을 지니고, 이는 기억 속 파편처럼 불완전하면서도 명확한 감정의 흔적을 드러낸다. 나는 이 작업을 통해 우리가 듣는다는 행위가 단순히 청각의 기능이 아니라, 감정과 기억을 잇는 매개임을 보여주고자 했다.
Through the process of visually recording sound, I sought to reconstruct the sensory experience of “hearing.” Sound, which exists only as a fleeting auditory perception, gains materiality and temporality the moment its trace is translated into lines. Fragments of Hearing thus becomes a visualized residue of emotion—a reverberation of feelings that can no longer be heard. The repeated lines and vibrating forms carry a distinct rhythm, revealing traces of emotion that are incomplete yet vivid, like fragments of memory. Through this work, I aimed to show that the act of listening is not merely a function of hearing, but a medium that connects emotion and memory.
