At the intersection of reality and image, the work explores the potential of new forms of error revealed through the imperfection of perception and imitation. In the paintings, the transformed faces—mediated through layers of representation—expose the instability of perception and the limits of depiction. In the digital works, the failed attempts of entities striving to imitate humans become a catalyst for creation through error. Though expressed through different mediums, both bodies of work avoid replicating reality as it is; instead, they focus on the dissonance that emerges at its boundaries, allowing viewers to newly perceive the meaning of error and the visual tension between the familiar and the unfamiliar.
